RPM is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It's fun, low impact and you can burn up to 675 calories a session.  With great music pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding.

I’ve been teaching RPM since release 3. We’re up to release 88, 4 releases a year, that’s a lot of revolutions in the saddle but I still love it. For me it’s about the music and the connection with the participants. There are some big moments when we are midway through a workout, we’re working hard, the bass drops for a final climb and you feel the energy of the entire room lift… it’s not me, it’s everybody that’s there in that moment.

And then there are the other moments with the regular shared experience of the rides; getting in the zone and doing your thing. Somebody once said to me ‘it’s the highlight of my week because it’s the only time I get to do something just for me’. And that’s the great thing, even if you’re just starting your fitness journey you can get on a bike and do an RPM class. You control the intensity so you tailor the work out to your level for you. Even if you’re sitting next to an Olympic cyclist, you’re both working hard, you’ll both finish at exactly the same time.

I began Les Mills classes way back in 1999 as a student at Otago Uni. I love turning up, not having to think what to do, fab music and know it's a great workout.

I began to train as a RPM instructor as a personal challenge.  I completed my RPM module in 2017 and went on the certify as an RPM instructor.

I love teaching early mornings-easy for me to get up before the cherubs are awake.  RPM offers a non weight bearing workout that really gets the heart pumping .

After recently completing the RPM module which I absolutely loved I am excited join the RPM team. I am so looking forward to a new programme and a new challenge.

RPM is so much fun but certainly a challenging programme and workout. Feeling like you are part of the team and enjoying an awesome ride together.
